This box is made of maple, and the top is made of walnut. The inlays are made of padauk, mahogany, and ebony.
There is a hidden drawer, for storing that special piece of jewelry. It represents the hidden treasure I knew was in Patricia.

Patricia was the oldest of the sisters. She and I would spend lots of time just talking about her life situations. She would always say she was complicated, to which I would respond that she just had a very complex personality. I made this box out of maple, with several complex inlays. Though fully capable of performing well in school, Patricia often backed away from academic challenges, and never realized just how much she was capable of. I made this box with a hidden drawer. When I gave it to her, I put a piece of jewelry in the hidden compartment to represent the hidden treasure that she has within.
